The Nigerian Federal Government has officially announced an increase in passport fees for citizens residing within the country, with the new rates set to take effect from September 1st, 2024.
According to the revised pricing structure, the cost of obtaining a 32-page passport booklet with a 5-year validity will increase from N35,000 to N50,000. Similarly, the 64-page passport booklet, which offers a 10-year validity, will see its fee rise from N70,000 to N100,000.
In a nutshell, FG cited that the passport price increase is a necessary step to take to ensure that the Nigerian passport remains a trusted and secure document on the global stage.
