Google Photo is adding new manual editing tools and AI-powered presets to speed up video-editing process on the gallery app. This update was announced by Google in a blogpost. Upon arrival, the features will be available on Android and iOS devices (iPhone and iPad).
The new video-editing features are advanced manual editing tools that helps incorporates AI-powered presets aims to simplify and accelerate the video-editing process, making it easier for users to quickly enhance their videos with minimal effort.
We’re also rolling out new AI-powered video presets on Android and iOS devices to help you quickly get great edited videos with minimal effort. These presets can automatically trim the video, adjust lighting, control speed, or apply effects like dynamic motion tracking of main subject, zooming in the main action, or applying slow-mo with just a few taps, Google made it cleared in the blogpost.
For android users, they'll begin to see difference in the Google Photo app's interface. The app now displays must-have video-editing tools more prominently, making them much easier to access. Android users will also have "Trim" as an additional tools. The Trim Tool allows Android users to cut footage more precisely, plus an Auto-enhance button for one-tap color correction and video stabilization.
In addition to the tools updated, a slow-motion tool is also added. The new Slo-Mo tool lets users adjust the speed of their videos, giving them the ability to create slow-motion or fast-forward effects. More so, Android and iOS users also get a bevy of new video presets.
These presets will automatically handle common editing tasks, such as trimming the video, adjusting lighting, controlling speed, and applying more advanced effects. Users can also easily add features like dynamic motion tracking, which keeps the focus on the main subject, zoom in on key parts of the video, or apply slow-motion effects—all with just a few taps.
The Google Photos' new video-editing features that's coming to Android and iOS follows last week’s video-flipping update. While the manual-editing tools align with those found in other video-editing apps, Google Photos stands out for its unique AI-powered tools that automate common tasks, making the app more user-friendly for casual users who may not have the time or expertise for manual edits.
However, it's important for Android and iOS users to note that this update is being released server-side and will automatically reach devices with the latest version of the app, though it may take a few days to complete the rollout.
