Apple expands iPhone 16 assembling to Brazil, joining India and China
The phone maker will begin with it latest flagships iPhone 16 models in the South American's country. "Apple has expanded its iPhone 16 assembly operations to Brazil, joining India and China in the production of the latest smartphone," report said. According to a MacMagazine report, Apple is assembling the iPhone 16 models in Brazil at its Foxconn facility in JundiaÃ, São Paulo.
However, it's important to note that while the Foxconn factory in Jundiaà (SP) is listed in the document, this does not necessarily mean that there are currently devices made here, nor that they will be available at the start of sales in Brazil. It indicates that production could begin soon (if it hasn't already), the report partly read.
The iPhone 16 models was launched on September 9 at the “It’s Glowtime” event. Upon the launch, the smartphones was made available for pre-order in many countries including Brazil and South Africa. However, report has shown that pre-orders for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models show higher demand, while the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max have seen lower pre-order numbers compared to previous models.
The Apple's Foxconn's facility in JundiaÃ, São Paulo, Brazil was previously been used for iPhone production but not for new models. Apple was only assembling the base model iPhone 16 in Brazil, while the most expensive units will be shipped from China. Now, the phone maker is commencing the assembling of it latest iPhone 16 series in the facility. This is the first time the company is creating new iPhones in the facility. The assembling of the base model of the iPhone 16 will begins from the start of its launch.
Now that the iPhone 16 models are being produced in Brazil, customers who have pre-ordered the smartphone in the country can expect to receive their devices just one week after the U.S. launch. This is a significant improvement from the previous timelines that could extend up to a month most especially when the assembly plant is not present in Brazil.
Apple's Assembly Facility in India and China
Most of Apple's expensive iPhone units are being imported from Chine to many countries around the world. Now, to reduce Apple reliance on Chinese manufacturing amid ongoing geopolitical tensions and supply chain challenges, the company has decided to commence the assembling of latest flagships in Brazil starting with iPhone 16 models.
The Apple's Latest iPhone Assembling that's about the begin in Brazil is something that has started in India for the past 12 months. Apple started assembling the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models in India last year, simultaneously with China, which was also the first for India.
The Cupertino firm, Apple Inc headquarter in California, once again made history by assembling the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models at the Foxconn facility in Tamil Nadu, India, showing Apple's continuous strategy to diversify production locations beyond China.
With that being said, it's also important to talk about some of iPhone 16's new features that's making the models hitting the shelves today. The features include a new Camera Control button, which likely enhances your experience, and the Pro models' improved camera capabilities with 5x optical zoom. These advancements are not only because the latest iPhones are expected to have more advance features, they are also aimed to attract customers.
