Does PalmPay Works in Ghana?

PalmPay is a finance app that allows users to send and receive from friends and family in countries where it operates in. Currently, PalmPay is working in Nigeria, Ghana and Tanzania. Nigerian market is the largest landscape for PalmPay and many rumors have surfaced that PalmPay is existing Ghanaian market.

In addition to where PalmPay is functioning, the finance app has global headquarters in China and London. The company first launched in Nigeria in 2019 and expanded to Ghana in 2021, offering digital payment solutions and financial services in both countries.

Although, there may be plans for further expansion, but as of now, Nigeria, Ghana and Tanzania are the primary markets for PalmPay.

In Ghana, PalmPay has participated in many financial conferences including the event ministry of finance of the country organized that educate people about the importance of inclusive financial systems for national development.

PalmPay Ghana said it’s committed to supporting payment and financial inclusion by offering accessible and innovative solutions for all Ghanaian users. Additionally, PalmPay partnered with banks and mobile money providers in Ghana to expand its reach and usability.

Like countries where PalmPay is fully operational, it offers banking services such as money transfers, bill payments, data and airtime purchases and many incentives programs to Ghanaians.

In other words, it allows ghanaians to carry out transactions such as sending and receiving money, paying bills, purchasing airtime, and making payments at various merchants.

Can I use PalmPay to receive money from other countries?

Despite the fact that PalmPay works in Nigeria, Ghana and Tanzania doesn’t means that you can seamlessly carry out a cross-border transfer from Nigeria to Ghana using PalmPay.

You can only use PalmPay to transacts within your country and any transfer that transcend that will need to pass through international money transfer agencies such as WorldRemit, MoneyGram or Western Union.

Summary

PalmPay works in Ghana and it can be used to send, receive money and carry out several bill payment services in the country. Currently, the payment app is fully operational in Nigeria, Ghana and Tanzania but that doesn’t means it can carry out inter-country money transfer within these counties.
