How to Use Copilot in Word for Editing and Rewriting
While often useful, many people believe that AI-generated contents can sometimes be "usefully wrong". That's why it's important to review and edit what the AI produces. You can either make the changes yourself or let Copilot assist with some of the adjustments. However, always verify facts, figures, or statistics on your own, as Copilot doesn’t ensure accuracy.
Follow these steps to use Copilot in MsWord for editing and rewriting:
- Highlight the texts you want to edit. To highlight texts in Microsoft Word, select all the texts you want to highlight or click the highlight tool (it looks like a highlighter pen) in the toolbar and choose your color.
- Immediately you highlight texts in MsWord that have Copilot AI installed, the Copilot logo will appear at the left of the highlighted texts. Click on the AI logo to start editing and rewriting.
- Tap on “Make Changes” and input your new prompts or editing instructions.
Review the newly highlighted text in pale blue and decide whether to keep it. You can also convert the information into a table by clicking the same Copilot button and selecting “Visualize as a table.”
More so, note that you can always chat with Copilot in the Microsoft Word. Having someone to bounce ideas off of can be really helpful. When you're working solo, Copilot steps in to provide that support.
To chat with Copilot in MsWord, simply tap on the the Copilot icon at the top right of the toolbar to open the chat box. From the chat box, you can start by asking a question and copilot will keep to the conversations.
