OPay Launches “Large Transaction Shield (LTS)” to Fight Financial Fraud

Financial Shielding

The Large Transaction Shield (LTS) is a security feature designed to offer enhanced protections for users conducting high-value transactions.

According to OPAY in a statement released to PUNCH on Sunday, LTS uses facial recognition authentication as an extra layer of security to protect users from unauthorized transactions.

This helps ensures that large or unusual transactions are only authorized by the account holder. The three main benefits of OPay’s Large Transaction Shield are;

  1. Improved Security
  2. Transaction Customization/Personalization
  3. Ease of Use.

With these features and benefits, you can customize or set personalized transaction limits for single, daily, or monthly transfers.

However, note that when a transaction exceeds the limits you set, you’ll be prompted to verify your identity using facial recognition, useful for safeguarding your funds against unauthorized access and frauds.

How to Activate Large Transaction Shield on OPAY

Large Transaction Shield (LTS) is set to N2,500,000 per day and for single transaction on default. In other words, the system will activate a facial recognition when you’re transferring an amount larger than that. However, to customize your preferred transaction limit for LTS activation, go-to “security center” under the “me” tab and tap on “Transfer Protection”.
